You know what's ironic? Christian Bale had the same problem in The Dark Knight Rises, where they were having a bit of a dilemma with a small nuclear device, and Batman flies of with it way out over the sea, away from Gotham, where it explodes, presumably killing him.
Very cute! I've liked this line for years, and have used it on occasion in frustrating situations to say what Batman said best. Along with Gilda Radner's "It's always something", this is one of the best expressions of the sometimes maddening state of human condition I've ever heard. Nice work.
Hey Mister West, why don't you just snuff the flame out with your gloves? Around it's time, the show "Get Smart" constantly used that same gimmick; presenting a delima that was completely false to show irony and comedy. One time, agent 99 had to make the enemy, who couldnt see her, in the other room think she was screaming and in pain, so she pulled out her mini record player and played a record of a womens voice screaming, lol. Course she coulda just screamed her own voice and the use of the device was completely retarded. Get Smart was the master of that and they would recognize this flaw of West right away.
Very cool cartoony art, love it. The font of the words is so well done. You should make one of GetSmart with various fonts saying "Missed it by THAT much" or "Sorry about that Chief", etc. It'd be awesome.
