I actually didn't mind the new designs. If anything, their problem is that they didn't change enough of the original; if you're trying to do a redesign, it should be really recognizable as a separate design.
The bandages are part of a practice called spatting, in which athletes wrap sports tape around their shoes and ankles for stability and to protect their feet and ankles from injury. Considering the amount of running the cast does, it makes sense that they want to take steps to prevent injuries.
Over a cartoon hedgehog? Fair enough. A little life advice though: try to watch the attitude. You never know when and how it will come back to haunt you, especially if you want to be a working artist someday.
Of course, while you're welcome to your opinion, you do understand that Sonic Boom isn't a reboot of the Sonic franchise, right? I don't mean to sound like one of those mean, overreacting Sonic fans; I just want to make sure you understand the situation here: the games and TV series will exist alongside the original Japanese series. They aren't "fixing" what isn't broke--they're just adding to it. It's like an alternate universe. Like I said, you're welcome to your opinion and your parody is admittedly accurate, but please get your facts straight before making a decision. Thank you.
