So tonight I got to do something I've been waiting for my entire life...see my all-time favorite movie, Flash Gordon, on the big screen.
The AFI Theater and Cultural Center in Silver Spring, MD was showing the film as part of its annual "Totally Awesome Movies of the 80's" program. And though I did sing along with the opening, I managed to behave myself through the rest of it. No small feat as Flash Gordon makes me giddy like no other movie has or ever will.
And yes, I did wear that t-shirt to the showing 'cuz, you know, I'm the coolest guy ever. HAIL MING!

When I went out for karaoke one night, some guy came up to do that song.
I don't know how he expected to make it all the way through, because he clearly knew nothing about it, When the "Ah-aaaaaaaah!" came up on the screen he seemed not to realize it was from the lyrics-- giving an alarmed-sounding shriek instead.
