A couple of months ago I found a webpage that had some of the old Nester comics on them. Before that I'd only heard of the character. Nice work on both of them.
Well, it's kinda "grown up". NP was totally targetted at kids back in the day. Not so much anymore.
As far I know, the guy who Howard was based on left the company to work for Microsoft so they couldn't use him anymore. They brought back Nester for an anniversary issue (apparantly the character was in college or something) but he hasn't been heard from since.
But yeah, I was flipping through my old NP back issues for some inspiration and stumbled on these old comics again. I found myself giggling like a school girl at how exceptionally lame yet awesome they were. Ah, the rose-colored lens of nostalgia. ^_~
Yeah, I was totally thrilled to see that someone archived them. Now if we could just get someone to track down the Mario VS Wario comics from the early 90's.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More

... I love the movies, I don't even call them the movies, I call them cinematic adventures ...
