That's how I feel when I face the same problem.

um... I want to seem mean or rude or anything but why do people get so upset when someone says something mean about them or their art? (it honestly doesn't bug me)

i know it's been a few months since you posted this, but i thought i should answer. some people are very sensitive to things like that and don't take it very well. often times they take those mean words to heart and it sticks in their brain, always looming in the background laughing at them. it can get to the point where they shut down completely because they just can't deal with it anymore, and it can be incredibly hard to ignore.

i know this because i'm one of those people who is very sensitive. i was bullied for a long long time in my life and though i've moved on from that those words remain in my head "you're stupid. your artwork sucks, that guy is way better then you are. that idea's been done before noob. you're just a freak. anime isn't art (that one was said by my frikkin art teacher...)" and it's hard to push those aside and remind myself that i am smart and i'm not a freak. i envy people like you who can shrug it off and move on, seeing it as no big deal. i wish i could do that, i really do.

well I figure if you can appreciate those things about your self (dude I know I'm a freak and I LOVE it so I'm not as good as some other guy who cares? not me.) I know other people are better than me and some times the insults are so ridiculous that they make me laugh the fact is that most of this comes over the internet people are much more likely to bully you from behind a computer screen than to your face and I guess everyone gets bullied but how others deal with it is different I guess ( I just developed a thicker skin and found people bullying me on the internet funny but in person it can be harder to deal with)

i figure if I'm stupid... well what ever I know more than other people (stupid is a really subjective term so don't take it to heart. alot of things are actually alot of it is opinionated) so if' your stupid you'll get smarter if your art  work sucks you'll get better if some other guy is better than you, good for them, if an ideas been used before then your just restating it or putting your own twist on it or something if your a freak to them then they aren't open minded and they are probably boring people and if your teacher thinks anime isn't art then he/she is stupid and needs to get her/him self a dictionary. and if you teacher continues to insist that anime isn't art, his/her loss. *shrugs* listen to people who give you criticism and actually care not people who bully and insult you.

I know it may be hard but people who give you honest criticism and actually care are the ones who are being honest so don't let mean people get you down because mean people are just mean and nothing more than that.

no problem, you're not alone in this there are other people who have the exact same problems (taking things to heart, depending on who you are. its hard not to.)

As far as "bullying" goes, thisis one of the least affective kinds.
Thing is, you can walk away from a bloody computer screen. It's not like it's gonna follow you around or anything.
(NOTE: If your computer is following you wherever you go, RUN.)

We have reached a point where everybody is carrying an I Phone, I Pad, I Whatever and are online everywhere they go. Those phones aren't following anybody, they're being carried along. Heck some people have fallen into manholes and fountains because of this.

So no, the turds can't really "RUN" from those computers following them wherever they go.
