Wendy is based on Wendy's founder Dave Thomas's fourth daughter, Melinda Lou Thomas (as a young child she pronounced her name "Wenda" which later became her nickname "Wendy"). As much as I hate to impugn the looks of a then 8-year old girl, she really didn't look much like the character on the sign. Then again, I don't look much like my adorable cartoon alter-ego, so who am I to judge? 9.9
If you're curious, here's what she looks like today (on the left): [link] (and if that don't work, try this one [link] )
Next up! The St. Pauli Girl (Beer + Hot German Blonde = WIN!)

My parents and I used to get all our burgers from Wendy's(my favorite was their "triple cheese plain")...until our visit to a location in Banning, California. There the burgers tasted like cardboard. We switched franchises(I won't tell you which one), but I still miss their food (especially their "frosties") and their infamous "Where's the beef?" commercials. Ah, memories.
Aww, such an adorable rendition! I never thought anything associated with fast food could be this cute! Though I'm sure that big ol' skirt of hers helps. Very cute.
actually, this isn't Wendy. The founder of Wendy's* had two daughters. Wendy, and the one everyone THINKS is Wendy. The red-head (fake Wendy) would draw more attention then real Wendy (a brunette)
